Event Details

Building on last year's eliminating bullying workshop, this interactive workshop for teachers and administrators will deepen participants' understanding of how to create safe and supportive schools for all students.  Facilitators: Morningside Center staff developers Nelly Espina and Tolonda Tolbert. Workshop participants will:

  • distinguish bullying behavior from other kinds of negative behavior;
  • discuss their experiences with bullying and efforts to counter it both in person and in cyberspace;
  • explore how cyberbullying operates differently than the traditional bullying dynamic;
  • learn how bullying is directed at LGBTQ youth in particular and how this affects the school community as a whole; and
  • learn research-based strategies to enable students, teachers and school leaders to stop bullying and create a more welcoming school environment for all.
